The typical Galvan is five inches tall, with soft and flexible bones that allow them to squeeze into tight spaces or spring quickly from danger. And while their slimy skin allows Galvans to stick to almost any surface, it also makes them equally difficult to grab ahold of. Known for evasion rather than confrontation and lacking any real combat prowess, Galvans have developed intellectual capacities far beyond those of neighboring species. Incessant collectors or all things technological, they are raised to enter complex machines and operate them from the inside. Despite all of their advanced science, Galvans must remain ever vigilant because in a dangerous galaxy, size still matters and Galvans are easily trampled underfoot.
History
Despite its diminutive scale, Planet Galvan is one of the most scientifically advanced worlds in the galaxy. Miniature skyscrapers and ultra-fast causeways litter the landscape, leaving little room for nature. First kept as pets and then employed by other species as industrial technicians, spies and saboteurs, Galvans were smart enough to keep the best secrets for themselves, eventually amassing enough knowledge to build a powerful empire of their own. A chaotic world of intrigue and innovation, the coldly technocratic inhabitants of Galvan Prime work tirelessly and consume massive resources to keep an ever-tightening grip over their former masters.
Character Creation
Species Name: Galvan (Plural: Galvans) Size: Tiny (-2), 4 to 6 inches tall. Life-span: 1000 + 1d4 * 500 years. (2000 years old) Senses: Normal Vision. Speed: Land, Swim & Climb: 5ft Base HP & HPLV: 6 + 3 Base MP & MPLV: 15 + 5
Traits
Lucky Galvans are considered Lucky on account of how small and weak they are to other species. Their base Meta-points are increased to 15 (from 12), and gain 5 MP per Level instead of 3. In addition, they get to pick an extra Meta-ability at character creation on top of the other they get automatically. Superior Intelligence Galvan characters start with +2 Intellect. They have Expertise in all Intellect-based checks. They add their character level to all Intellect-based checks and Metaphors. Can roll their Intellect Dice without exerting, or if they do, can take Average on any dice used in a Intellect-based check if it is lower (rounded up). Enhanced Reflexes Galvan characters start with +1 Agility and Perception, and are considered to be Proficient in Agility and Perception-based checks. Characters have a choice: to add their character level to their checks, or be able to freely exert to use their Attribute dice (and take average if it lower, if they do exert). They can make a different choice for each Attribute. Amphibious Galvan characters are Amphibious, they can swim and breathe in bodies of water. They gain a Swim Speed and can stay underwater for 6 + Endurance hours before needing to breathe dry air. Wall-Crawler Galvans can also stick to sheer surfaces that support their weight. They gain a Climb speed equal to their speed and they can stick to almost any surface including ceilings, they have Advantage to checks to stay stuck to surfaces. Tiny Size Galvan characters are naturally Tiny, they range from 4 to 6 inches tall. They have a natural reach and space of 1ft and must enter into a larger creature's space to land melee attacks upon them. Galvans gain Advantage against area-of-effect attacks and effects that does not saturate the entire space. Attacks and effects that home in on targets or covers the entire area completely are unaffected. Galvans use x4 their Reflex core value for determining the height in which they can start taking fall damage, and if they do, they gain Resistance to Fall damage.
Galvan Arc
Galvan characters can obtain Galvan-specific features at 1st, 2nd, and every even level beyond that. Players can pick which benefit they want in any order so long as they meet the conditions of the minimum level and any pre-requisites it may have.
| Minimum Level | Pre-requisite | Feature |
| 1 | - | Innate Knowledge
Gain Knowledge Metaphor for free at Rank 3. Add 3 Ranks worth of Knowledge Metaphor Features to it. If the Galvan already has Knowledge as a Metaphor, increase its rank by 2 and give it 2 Metaphor component ranks for free. |
| 2 | Innate Knowledge | Natural Prodigy
Gain an Mind-based Metaphor for free at rank 2, or increase an existing Intellect-based Metaphor by 2 ranks, or add 2 Ranks worth of Metaphor Components to an Intellect-based Metaphor. |
| 1 | - | Calculated Dodge
Gain the Calculated Dodge Metaphor Feature with, "As a Reaction, add your Intellect score to their Evasion/Deflection and move 5ft in any direction when attacked during an encounter. This effect persists until the Galvan performs any other activity.". |
| 2 | - | Slippery Assailant
Gain Advantage to escaping grapples and restraints, and opponents suffer Disadvantage to maintain grapples and restrain the Galvan. This ability is nullified if the opponent is also a Galvan or possesses some kind of sticky grip. |
| 2 | - | Grapnel Tongue
Gain the Grapnel Tongue Metaphor feature with, "Their tongue is now an appendage that can be used to reach and stick to surfaces and entities with a range of 5ft after succeeding a ToHit check (surfaces have a TN of 6). If the entity is within the Galvan's ability to lift with their arms, they can attempt a Strength/Athletics check to pull it towards them, otherwise they can pull themselves towards their tongue's sticking point within one action frame." |
| 6 | Natural Prodigy | Administrator
Gain Expertise in checks and activities involving Computers, Machines, Technology, Constructs and similar concepts. When using the Create a meta-die Meta-ability for these interactions, the Galvan only pays the minimum MP cost for the additional roll instead of its result. |
| 8 | - | Omnitrix User
Gain the Omnitrix User Metaphor feature with, "The Galvan can Exert 10 to transform into any other creature/species they have encountered over two action frames, once per round, a number of times equal to their Intellect score per long rest. They retain both their Galvan features and gain features present in their new form. The Galvan gains resistance to all damage while transforming, but can't transform as a Reaction unless it is to revert back to their Galvan form, reverting to Transformations persist even when a Galvan is knocked unconscious or killed." |
| 10 | Omnitrix User | Master Control
This feature appends to Omnitrix User with the following, "The Galvan can now use Omnitrix User at Exert 2 instead of 10, and transform over one Action frame instead of two. They can still only transform once per round. Instead of being limited to species they have encountered, the Galvan can now transform into any species they know about." |
| 10 | Omnitrix User | Giant Galvan
This feature appends to Omnitrix User with the following, "The Galvan can now transform into a larger version of itself. It can define which Size-Rating it becomes, up to its level plus Intellect. They gain Damage-Reduction to all types equal to its Intellect times its Size. |
