Physical Description The Xamoan are a species of towering, physically imposing humanoids adapted to harsh environments and extreme physical demands, typically standing 36 to 40 feet tall, with some individuals naturally exceeding this range. They are best known for their immense stature, dense musculature, and distinctive aquatic-inspired features, which give them a predatory, almost shark-like appearance. Despite their intimidating presence, Xamoans are not inherently aggressive and display a wide range of temperaments, occupations, and cultural roles. Their skin is thick, leathery, and resilient, most commonly appearing in shades of gray, slate, or muted blue-green. This skin functions as both insulation and natural armor, resisting cold, abrasion, and blunt force trauma. Scarring is common and culturally accepted. The Xamoan head structure is non-human and heavily inspired by aquatic megafauna. Most possess a broad, forward-set head resembling sharks or whales. A reduced or indistinct neck, blending head and shoulders into a single powerful silhouette. Downturned or swept horns curving along the skull, used for intimidation, ritual display, or combat, and small, monochrome eyes adapted for low-light or underwater conditions. Xamoan hands typically have three thick fingers, each capable of fine manipulation despite their size, while their legs are wide and columnar, ending in broad, elephant-like feet that distribute their immense weight and provide stability on uneven terrain. A Xamoan’s mass is immense even by giant standards. Their footsteps cause visible environmental impact: ground tremors, displaced debris, and structural strain in smaller settlements. Their voices are naturally deep and resonant, carrying over long distances even at conversational volume.
Culture and Society
Xamoans originate from cold, rugged, or aquatic regions, including polar coastlines, storm-lashed archipelagos, deep fjords, and oceanic worlds. Their settlements, when permanent, are built with massive clearances, reinforced foundations, and open structures rather than enclosed interiors. Nomadic Xamoans are common, especially hunters, trackers, or investigators who move between regions rather than establishing static cities. Their size makes conventional transportation impractical; they typically rely on walking, swimming, or specially reinforced vessels. Xamoan culture emphasise competence, resilience, and personal capability. Social standing is often earned through demonstrated skill—hunting, investigation, craftsmanship, or leadership—rather than inheritance. Physical contests, endurance trials, and tests of awareness are common cultural expressions. While strength is respected, recklessness is frowned upon; uncontrolled destruction is seen as a failure of discipline rather than a display of power. Clothing and equipment are functional and heavy-duty, often made from thick hides, metals, or composite materials scaled to their bodies. Ornamentation tends to be minimal, with scars and wear marks serving as unspoken records of experience. Relations with Other Species Due to their size, Xamoans are uncommon in densely populated regions. Where they do appear, they are often viewed with awe, fear, or suspicion. Formal infrastructure rarely accommodates them, limiting their access to housing, transport, and services. Despite this, Xamoans frequently take on roles that benefit smaller societies—guards, hunters of large threats, frontier explorers, or investigators capable of surviving environments others cannot.

Xamoan Arc
Xamoan characters can obtain Xamoan-specific features at 1st, 2nd, and every even level beyond that. Players can pick which benefit they want in any order so long as they meet the conditions of the minimum level and any pre-requisites it may have.
